Done teaching

So I taught my last class in June at Michaels. I
am seriously considering wether or not I will be
teaching in Indiana, which is where we are moving.
My husband accepted a job there and we will be
leaving Rochester around August 16th.
I think that we will enjoy Indiana, but right now
I am in serious denial. I will really miss this
area and I will really miss my friends!! I will
really miss knowing how to get to the places that
I need to go.
However, I am ecstatic that my husband will be
getting a pay check. :)

UPDATED Cake DR Recipe!

My apologies to thsoe of you who tried this
recipe and it didn't work. I forgot to add the
eggs!! (Why didn't anyone mention that? ;) )Here
is the updated recipe.

Here is my recipe for doctoring cake mixes;

1 box of cake mix
1 box of instant pudding (unprepared) in
corresponding flavor to cake mix (i.e. chocolate
cake, chocolate pudding)
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 cup of sour cream
4 eggs

Do NOT follow the directions on the back of the
box, only these. :)

Beat all ingredients together for exactly 2
minutes.

Pour in to your greased pan and bake following
pan directions. You generally will need to add 5-
10 minutes baking time due to the thickness of
the batter depending on your oven.

When it is doen let it cool for 10 minutes. Turn
it out of the pan and wrap immediately and
completely with saran wrap. Let cool until it has
come to room temperature. This will take longer
when it is wrapped, so plan accordingly. (6-8
hours)

Unwrap and ice and decorate. :) You will have a
very moist very yummy cake!!

Marshmallow fondant

Marshmallow Fondant

1 – 16 ounce bag of miniature marshmallows (it
has to be 16 ounces, not 10.5)

3 TBLSP Water

¾ TBLSP flavoring

2 lbs of pure cane powdered sugar

Grease a microwave safe bowl with shortening. Put
marshmallows in the bowl with water and
flavoring. Microwave in 1 minute increments
stirring after each minute until marshmallows are
smooth and creamy.

Slowly stir in 2 lbs of powdered sugar. It will
be the consistency of bread dough, so in the end
you will have to knead it in. Do not burn
yourself on the hot marshmallows! (Lightly coat
your hands in shortening when kneading fondant.)

Keep adding sugar until it will no longer
incorporate more or until you have added the full
2 lbs

Spray saran wrap with non-stick spray and tightly
cover your fondant. Stick covered fondant in a
sealable bag. Let sit for at least a couple of
hours before use.

If you are coloring a full recipe of fondant the
same color, you can add the coloring to the
marshmallows right after you melt them. If you
are coloring small amounts then you will take the
desired amount and knead in the color.

Note: If you are using a mixer to mix your
fondant generously grease the bowl and the dough
hook before mixing. If you do not have a dough
hook you will want to use a paddle. Do not use a
whisk. The dough is very thick.
